The Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Adamawa, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, said on Saturday that he would concede defeat if the election was against him.
Ribadu made the statement shortly after casting his vote at the Aliyu Mustafa polling unit in Yola.
Ribadu, who expressed satisfaction with the process of the elections, said the exercise was peaceful.
“I will accept the outcome even if it is against me.”
NAN reports that voting has begun in Yola and its environs.
Low turnout of voters was, however, observed in some polling units In Yola North and South local government areas.
Dankwambo too
Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe State on Saturday said he would accept the result of the April 11 governorship and House of Assembly elections as an act of God.
Dankwambo, who is seeking re-election on the platform of PDP, said this while fielding questions from newsmen shortly after he voted at Manzo Hassan polling unit at 1.36 p.m.
He said it was God who gives power and that he would accept whatever the outcome of the result would be.
Dankwambo said that he was satisfied with the turnout of voters and the conduct of the election.
On his part, Alhaji Inuwa Yahaya, the gubernatorial candidate of APC, said he would accept the results of the election only if the elections were conducted according to the rules and regulations.
Yahaya, spoke with newsmen shortly after he voted at the A.Y.U polling unit, located at the Government Science Secondary School, Gombe, at 2.55p.m.
He expressed satisfaction over the voters’ turnout in his area.
