Okorocha's re-election boosted by defections from PDP

Governor Rochas Okorocha’s campaign for re-election as governor of Imo state, got a major boost Thursday with the defection of two political heavyweights from Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress.

The two defectors are Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, and Humphrey Anumudu, both governorship aspirants of the PDP. Araraume had claimed he won the ticket of the party which was given to deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha.

Another governorship aspirant of the PDP, Bethel Amadi and a chieftain of the Accord Party, Felix Idiga were also speculated to have joined the APC.
