Governor Gabriel Suswam of the central Nigerian state of Benue on Tuesday swore in two commissioners, Mr Solomon Agidani and Mr Joseph Tarkaa, to replace two vacancies in his cabinet, that will wind up end May.

Mr John Ngbede, the former Commissioner for Works and Transport, resigned his appointment to pick up the running mate ticket for PDP gubernatorial candidate in the state, while Mr Aondowase Chia, the former Commissioner for Rural Development and Cooperatives died in March.

Suswam, while swearing in Agidani and Tarkaa to replace the two commissioners, commended them for accepting to serve in his government that only has two months left.

He urged the new commissioners to quickly adopt their new assignment in order to move the state forward.

Responding on behalf of the two, Agidani pledged to keep in touch with their constituencies
and would not betray the trust reposed in them by the state.

Agidani was assigned the Ministry of Works and Transports, while Tarkaa was to handle
the Ministry of Rural Development and Cooperatives.
