Final result in Ogun state: Buhari wins 55%, Jonathan 37%

General Muhammed Buhari of the All Progressives Congress,APC has been declared winner of the Presidential election in Ogun State.

Declaring the result of the votes late this night,the State Collation Officer for the Presidential election,Prof. Duro Oni,the Deputy Vice Chancellor of University of Lagos, disclosed that APC candidate polled 308,290 votes.

•Buhari: wins 55% of Ogun votes

The Peoples Democratic Party,PDP candidate, President Goodluck Jonathan won 207,950 votes.

Total valid votes cast in the State were 533,172 votes while the voided votes were 26,441.Total votes cast were 559,613 votes.

The APC won 13 local government areas in the State while PDP won seven local government areas.

Buhari won with wide margins in Abeokuta South and Ado Odo, winning 35,878 and 37,385 votes.
Jonathan won 10,062 in Abeokuta South and 15,252 votes in Ado Odo. Buhari also picked Egbado South with 14,169 votes to defeat PDP with 10,491 votes. In Ifo, he led with a wide margin, polling 27,453 votes to Jonathan’s 8,645. In Egbado North, Buhari also won with 16,459 votes to Jonathan’s 13,405 votes.

In Ijebu North-East, the two candidates returned close votes, with Buhari winning 7,638 votes and Jonathan 6,163 votes. It was a close race too in Odogbolu: Buhari:11,623 and Jonathan 11,405. In Ipokia, the APC candidate was also the favourite choice of the voters, polling, 17,974 to Jonathan’s 15,546 votes.

Jonathan however won in Ogun Waterside, by fewer than a thousand votes, 8063 to Buhari’s 7076.

He also won in Ijebu East with 10,045 votes to beat APC with 9,109 votes.

Jonathan’s largest margin of victory came from Ijebu North LG, the base of the wanted fugitive in the USA and Jonathan’s pointsman in Ogun state, Prince Buruji Kashamu.

Jonathan polled 20,500 votes to Buhari’s 14,410.

Jonathan also ran away with Ikenne LG, winning 11,503 votes to defeat APC with 8,443 votes.
