Wammako tells APC supporters not to be intimidated

Gov.Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto state said that no amount of intimidation will deter the All Progressives Congress from effecting a change of leadership in the country.

Wamakko was speaking while addressing thousands of party supporters at Wamakko town, the headquarters of the local government.

” Military, Police, civil defence show of force will not change the political attitude of our people towards electing honest and committed progressives as leaders of this our great country in this weekend election,” he said.

” Military should go and discharge their professional competence at Sambisa Forest where over 219 innocent Chibok schoolgirls are being held by Boko Haram and not to start intimidating innocent people who are ready for political change” he said.

” We are fully prepared to protect our votes against rigging, ” he added.

Wamakko told the gathering that they should be ready to ensure that when they vote, their ballots are counted correctly.

He also told them to ensure that the results are policed all the way to the collation centre and the local government headquarters and the state capital.

He also called on party supporters to ensure they collect their permanent voters card in readiness for election.

He said that the PVCs represent the political change needed to ensure good democratic governance Nigerians have being clamouring for.

He also called on supporters not to allow the opposition to intimidate them before, during and after the elections.

Speaker Aminu Waziri, the APC gubernatorial in Sokoto state also advised members of the party in the state to protect their votes at their respective polling units.

He said that the move was to prevent rigging by ensuring that all votes count.

” when you vote, stay at your respective polling units to hear the result before proceeding to collation centres, local government headquarters,state and federal capital for final results” he said.

He explained that it was only by so doing that credible leaders that have the interest of the people at heart will be elected.

Waziri also called on party supporters to shun any act of violence and cooperate with the INEC to ensure peaceful conduct of elections.

Alhaji Maigari Dingyadi Director General APC campaign organization called on security agencies to provide a level praying ground for the peaceful conduct of the election.

He said that peaceful environment would pave way for free,fair and credible elections. He also called on party supporters to resist all forms of provocation.
