Ukrainian club Dynamo Kyiv has been charged by European football governing body UEFA for its fans’ racist behaviour during the Europa League round of 16 second leg match against Everton.
Dynamo Kyiv also face sanctions for separate charges of setting off of fireworks during a match as well as insufficient organisation – as some stairways in the Olimpiyskiy Stadium were inaccessible.
If found guilty of the charges, Dynamo Kyiv could play its next European home match behind closed doors and pay a heavy fine to UEFA.
This comes after the club was sanctioned with a partial stadium closure for an incident during a match with French club E. A. Guingamp.
With that in consideration, a final decision on the matter would be made by UEFA’s Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body on March 26
The Ukrainian club won 5-2 against Everton to seal passage 6-4 on aggregate and set up a quarterfinal clash with Italian club Fiorentina.
