American tennis player Wayne Odesnik has had his career effectively ended following a 15-year ban from the game after he was found guilty of breaking anti-doping rules.

The 29-year old, ranked 267 in the world, had had traces of banned substances found in his urine samples presented in December 2014 and January 2015.

This led to the Tennis Anti-doping Programme and the United States Anti-doping Agency announcing the stiff punishment for the Johannesburg-born player.

It is the second time Odesnik has broken anti-doping regulations, having been suspended for a year in 2010 for possessing human growth hormone.

Odesnik’s current 15-ban means he can only return to competing on the tour on January 29, 2030.
