Bolivia Cancel Friendly with Super Eagles

South American nation Bolivia have withdrawn from the friendly match with Nigeria earlier scheduled for March 26 in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State over security fears.

In a statement, President of Bolivia’s football federation Carlos Chavez said “Armed conflict and the tense political situation in Nigeria forced our withdrawal.”

The international friendly match would have taken place two days after the presidential elections take place in Nigeria on March 24.

The Super Eagles now have just the international friendly against South Africa in Nespruit on March 29 to prepare for, unless the Nigeria Football Federation are quick to organise a replacement for the cancelled friendly.
