President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience attended the mass funeral service at the Gabriel Iworiso-Markson Cultural Centre, Yenagoa for the female victims of a ghastly accident on East-West Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The accident on 14 February claimed 11 people.

Among them were Mrs Elizabeth Allison Oguru, wife of Bayelsa State Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Gimbra Pamowei; Mrs Ruby Benjamin, Mrs Consider Nayam Amadi, Madam Elizabeth Nisakpo, Mrs Ayakpo Franca Otolo, Mrs Acha Pere-Kalama, Mrs Lydia Clara Abila.

The driver of the women, Kelechi Onyekwuru also died.

The women buried today, were all burnt beyond recognition.

They were all members of Women for Change Development Initiative in Bayelsa state, and were on their way back to Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital, after a visit to Mrs. Jonathan in Port-Harcourt. They even saw off Mr. Jonathan at the airport before embarking on the fatal journey home.
