Tim Sherwood has been appointed as new manager of Premier League club Aston Villa on a three-and-a-half year contract, barely a week after Paul Lambert was sacked by the club.
Sherwood,46, joins the Midlands club having spent the second half of last season at Tottenham Hotspur, where he was replaced by Mauricio Pochettino during the close season.
Sherwood’s contract will see him take charge until the end of season 2017-18.
In a statement on the club’s website, the club said they are excited to have secured the services of one of English football’s most highly sought after managers.
