Siasia Calls Up Arsenal Striker, Others for Gabon

Nigeria U-23 coach Samson Siasia has called up nine foreign based players, including Arsenal striker Alex Iwobi, ahead of the team’s 2015 All Africa Games first leg qualifier against Gabon later in February.

Also called up for camp are Salisu Abdullahi, Sodiq Oluwole, Oshobe Oladele, Salisu Sadiq Popoola, Ezekiel Imoh of Qatari club Al Arabi, Paul Onuachu Ebere, Aminu Umar and Japheth Okirie.

Siasia, who has also dropped five home-based players; Isah Mas’ud, Effiong Emmanuel Etim, Godwin Odibo, Adetunji Sunday and Yahaya Adamu, stated the invited foreign based are expected to join up with their home based counterparts on Monday.

Dream Team VI will face the Gabonese U-23 side in Libreville on February 22 before hosting the return leg a fortnight later.
