Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has launched his book, My Watch in London, with another verbal missile thrown at President Goodluck Jonathan.

Reports said the two-time Nigerian leader described Jonathan as a mediocre not worth the blood of Nigerians.

He spoke in London Wednesday, in an event organised by the Royal African Society, saying that there are many Nigerians worthy of the office of president and wondered why there is so frenzy at sustaining Jonathan, even at the cost of blood.

“There is no sentiment in the affairs of Nigeria. Nigeria is a population of 180million and you wouldn’t have anybody other than one person or two persons that can run the affairs of Nigeria? What the hell are we talking about?”

“For me there are millions who can run the affairs of Nigeria that are not even coming out. So why should you die on behalf of one who is probably performing as a mediocre.

“With all due respect. Nigeria, if you love it, you would look for the best for Nigeria and I don’t believe that at this point in time we have the best.”

Unlike in Nairobi, where he also launched My Watch, Obasanjo refrained from repeating the endorsement of Maj. General Muhammadu Buhari, candidate of the All Progressives Congress, contesting the presidency with Jonathan, a member of Obasanjo’s Peoples Democratic Party, which has been in power since 1999.

“What I said and I maintain that and I will say it again and I will do it. When the time comes for me to vote, I will consider the track record of all the candidates that are contesting and I will assess and based on my assessment for who I believe have the best track record to perform the job of the Nigerian president, then he will have my vote and if anybody should know what the job of the Nigerian president requires, I should know,” he said.

the economy of this country through various schemes such as the
e-wallet, YOUWIN, light rail transformation, local content initiatives ,

  • ProHOPE says:

PDP DON’T NEED OBASANJO TO WIN ELECTION.

Obansanjo endorsing Buhari does not in anyway bother PDP because I could recall vividly how Obasanjo lost his own polling unit in 1999 election. As a politician if you can’t win your polling unit how much more your ward , Local Government or State who are you to talk.

Obasanjo being a past President haven’t got the political power to do anything. He just have powers over his one vote and he should realise that power has left him and get use to it. Obasanjo can’t even tell his family who to vote for so no point listening to him.

When Obasanjo was president he abuse human rights by ordering the military to wipe-out completely every lives of UDI community in Bayelsa State and in future he will face the international Court for his actions.

Nigeria is advancing and we are moving towards International standards in this global village and Obasanjo sins will catch up with him sooner than expected.

Obasanjo tenure practice selective anti-corruption. As long as you do what he wants EFFC won’t come after you but if you are oppose to his decisions EFFC will hunt the person down. We haven’t forget and now Nigerians are more enlightened about what is right for Nigeria .

Obasanjo endorsing Buhari is waste of time to listen to because come 28 MARCH 2015 ,DR. GOODLUCK EBELE JONATHAN WILL WIN THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION AND RULE NIGERIA TILL 2019.

By the way, is Obasanjo, the only retired soldier and past leader of this country? What made him so unnecessarily too vocal? What is his problem and what does he want from Jonathan that he failed to get? I am asking this, because man’s insincerity, especially in Nigeria, is gone with the wind.
