England striker Danny Welbeck has made a full recovery from injury and has been named in the Arsenal starting line-up as the Gunners visit Tottenham Hotspur in Saturday’s North London derby.

The Gunners will however be without top scorer Alexis Sanchez, who is recovering from a hamstring injury, as well as midfielders Jack Wilshere and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who are very close to making full recoveries.

Tottenham meanwhile have a fully fit squad to pick from, with Algerian midfielder Nabil Bentaleb rejoining from Africa Nations Cup duty.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side head into the encounter with five league wins from their last seven outings, the last of which came from the Hawthorns in a well earned 3-0 win at West Brom last weekend.

Striker Harry Kane maintained his rich vein of form for the Lilywhites with a brace in that encounter and would be seeking to continue his goalscoring form against the Gunners, having scored 20 goals so far in all competitions this season.

Also in good form for Spurs is Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen, who is the highest scoring midfielder so far in the league with nine goals, most of which have come from well struck freekicks.

And while Tottenham have scored the most goals among Premier League sides in all competitions this year, Arsenal have kept cleansheets in four of their last five matches, making Saturday’s encounter a mouthwatering prospect.

Despite the absence of Alexis Sanchez, Arsenal can still count on Olivier Giroud, Theo Walcott and in-form Santi Cazorla to come up with the goods in front of goal while Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Özil pose a great threat as well.

But Arsenal have won just one of their last six trips to White Hart Lane, though that sole win came in last season’s fixture courtesy of Tomas Rosicky’s second minute strike.

Tottenham would be more wary having also lost five of the last seven matches between both sides and would bank on the form of Kane and Eriksen to upset the odds against their local rivals.

Elsewhere in the Premier League on Saturday, Steven Gerrard will play his last Merseyside derby as a Liverpool player when the resurgent Reds visit Everton in the late kick-off.

Daniel Sturridge could be thrusted back to the Liverpool starting line-up just a week after making a scoring return from his long term injury while for Everton, Aaron Lennon is primed to make his debut following his loan move from Tottenham last weekend.

Liverpool head into the encounter in great form, winning five of their last six matches and the Reds would be confident of extending their seven-match unbeaten run against an Everton side it has lost to just once in the last 16 league meetings between both sides.

In other Premier League matches, leaders Chelsea remain without top scorer Diego Costa through suspension but Cesc Fabregas has recovered from injury as the Blues remain favourites to get the win at Villa Park against Aston Villa.

Champions Manchester City – five points behind in second place – meanwhile host Hull City desperate to end a four-match winless streak in all competitions; a streak that has coincided with midfielder Yaya Toure’s absence due to Africa Cup of Nations duty with the Ivory Coast.

Elsewhere, third placed Manchester United visit seventh placed West Ham United on Sunday, stuttering Southampton will hope to at least maintain fourth spot in the trip to Queens Park Rangers while bottom side Leicester City will aim to claw out of the relegation zone when midtable Crystal Palace visit on Saturday.
