President Goodluck Jonathan will formally kick off his re-election campaign at the Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos on Thursday, two days after he inaugurated his campaign team in Abuja.
The Lagos State Police Command on Wednesday, said that security measures had been put in place for a hitch-free campaign.
The Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu said police officers and men would be on ground to provide full security at the arena.
”We are fully prepared to receive the President and the important personalities attending the campaign.
”All nooks and crannies of the environment will be under severe surveillance. We have always been ready in terms of security and we still assure everyone that the campaign will be hitch and crime free,” he said.
