As part of efforts to give fillip to his electioneering, Sen. Teslim Folarin, the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State has appointed Mr Asimiyu Alarape as the Director-General of his campaign organisation.
Alarape was the Speaker of the State House of Assembly from 1999 to 2003.
A statement obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Ibadan also named Mr Victor Oluwadamilare, the organisation’s Director of Media and Strategy.
Oluwadamilare was a former Chairman, Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council.
The statement described Alarape as a respected grassroots politician and a tactician.
Alarape, who holds a B.Sc degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile -Ife, Osun, was a member of many political associations.
They include the National Republican Convention (NRC), United Nigerian Congress Party (UNCP), All Peoples Party (APP), Alliance for Democracy (AD) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He was also a Special Adviser to former Gov. Adebayo Alao-Akala on Political Matters from 2007 to 2011
