A member of the Nigerian House of Representatives from Birnin Kudu/Buji Federal Constituency of Jigawa, on Sunday in Dutse announced that he was defecting to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The 64 year old Alhaji Sabo Nakudu, while addressing his supporters in his new party, also said he had picked the APC Senatorial ticket for the Jigawa Central Senatorial District in the 2015 elections.
He said he had left his former party alongside thousands of his supporters, including the immediate-past Chairman of Birnin Kudu Local Government, Alhaji Sani Jigawa.
The lawmaker, who was elected in 2011 then urged his supporters to be firm and steadfast in the quest for a change in the state and at the national level.
He added that they should not allow themselves to be intimidated by anybody.
“I am now in APC, and change has come by God’s grace and we cannot be intimidated,’’ Nakudu said.
A former chairman of PDP in the state, Alhaji Isa Duniya-Bahutu, said his party was not worried by Nakudu’s defection.
“We are not troubled by APC, as our party is well rooted in the state. APC in Jigawa is a party of aspirants without followers in local government areas,’’ he said after the party’s zonal stakeholders meeting
