Governor Ayo Fayose of the western Nigerian state of Ekiti on Thursday unveiled a six-point agenda which his administration would pursue with vigour.

The six -point agenda comprised health, education, agriculture, water, electricity, road and stomach infrastructure.

Fayose said this at the Cultural Centre Ado-Ekiti when he declared open a one-day meeting with top officials of Ministries, Departments and Agencies on Medium Term Expenditure framework.

He said that the 2015 budget of the state would be designed to achieve the objectives of the six cardinal programmes of his administration.

Represented by Dr Modupe Alade, the Secretary to the State Government, Fayose gave assurance that his campaign promises of improving lives of the people would not be misplaced.

He stressed the commitment of the state government to the improvement of the standard of living of the people through planned economic transformation.

Fayose said his administration planned to stop fiscal expansion as well as reduce budget deficit in order to turn around the fortune of the state during the 2015-2017 fiscal years.

He emphasised that only new and critical projects with guaranteed sources of funding would be accommodated in the 2015 budget.

Fayose, however, called on Ekiti indigenes both at home and in the diaspora to support and cooperate with his administration in order to successfully carry out its lofty vision for the state.
