Boko Haram blasts: APC shifts House of Assembly primaries

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has postponed its House of Assembly primary election earlier scheduled for Monday (Dec. 1) nationwide.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the party said that the election would hold on December 2.

The statement, signed by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said that the postponement was to show respect for those killed or injured in Friday’s terrorist attack in a mosque in Kano.

”All the dates for other primaries remain unchanged,” it said.

The party described the attack as a tragedy, adding that it was a condemnable and totally incomprehensible attack on defenceless citizens in a hallowed place such as a mosque.

The APC urged all Nigerians to demonstrate the “Nigerian spirit of compassion and strength of character’’ by providing succour and support for one another.
