The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) on Tuesday in Lagos announced that the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) had returned to its fold.

This return, after three years is contained in a statement signed by the NLC’s General Secretary, Mr Peter Ozo-Eson.

“The emergency meeting of the Central Working Committee (CWC) of the congress deliberated on the desire of your union to return to the congress as an affiliate union.

“In particular, CWC consider your letter of Oct. 20 which communicated your notice of discontinuation of the case you had instituted against the congress.

“The CWC resolved to approve your return to the congress with effect from Nov. 6 without any pre-conditions.

“It is therefore my pleasure to invite you to resume full and unfettered participations in the affair of the congress,’’ the statement read.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that NASU pulled out of the NLC after being disenchanted by the outcome of the 2011 National Delegate Conference of the congress.

The union felt cheated considering its contributions to the congress materially and otherwise.
