Sixty seven ships laden with petroleum products and other commodities are being expected to berth at the Lagos ports, the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) said on Monday in Lagos.

The Authority said in its daily publication, “Shipping Position” made available to newsmen that 27 of the expected ships would arrive with containers, while nine others would sail in with petroleum products.

“Eight ships will sail in with bulk rice; three will arrive with bulk wheat; two with frozen fish; while other ships will bring in crude palm oil, bulk malt, bulk sugar,’’ the NPA said.

According to the publication, general cargo will come in six ships, three ships will sail in with bulk gypsum and five ships will sail in with wheat.

It, however, said that 11 ships were waiting to berth with petroleum products and food items.

According to the NPA, the ships sailed in with petrol, diesel, bulk wheat, bulk rice and fresh fish.

It said that 22 other ships were discharging products such as: bulk soya beans, steel products, containers, bulk salt, bulk sugar, general cargo and petroleum products.
