Ebola: Sierra Leone 'host' Ivory Coast in Abidjan

Sierra Leone national football team: hosts Ivory Coast in Ivory Coast

Sierra Leone’s home Africa Cup of Nations qualifier with Ivory Coast next month has been switched to Abidjan due to the Ebola epidemic, the Ivorian Football Federation announced on Thursday.

The current Ebola outbreak has left almost 5,000 dead, nearly all in the west African states of Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea.

Sierra Leone, who must play all of their home games outside of the country, will face the Ivorians in Abidjan on November 14.

Cameroon lead Group D on 10 points, from Democratic Republic of Congo and Ivory Coast, both on six points, and Sierra Leone on 1.
