Manchester United may still be finding their feet on the pitch under Louis van Gaal, but off it they continue to excel.
On Wednesday, United announced yet another commercial deal – this time with Chi Limited to become the club’s official soft drinks partner in Nigeria.
The multi-year deal allows Chi Limited to use United’s crest and club imagery on their products in Nigeria. The value of the deal was not disclosed.
For United, the deal will boost their coffers further as they look to continue to fund their incredible spending on players through commercial tie-ups. United announce partnership with Chi Limited
The deal will allow Nigeria’s market leader in fruit juices to use the legendary United crest and club imagery on a range of products throughout Nigeria.
Founded over 30 years ago, Chi prides itself as Nigeria’s premier producer of healthy, high quality, fruit and dairy-based beverages enjoyed by millions of customers every year.
With brands like Chivita 100%, Chivita Active, Chi Exotic, Chi Happy Hour and Chi Ice Tea occupying leading positions in their respective segments, Chi Limited has successfully ensured market dominance in Nigeria over the years through the expansion of its well-known brands. It has been a busy week for United’s commercial department as they signed up IVC as the club’s first ‘official Chinese wellness partner’ on Monday.
As well as an ‘official Chinese wellness’ partner and Nigerian soft drinks partner, United have a global noodle partner (Nissin Foods Group), gaming partner in Japan (Gloops), an official paint partner (Kansai Paint) and a tyre partner in UK and India (Apollo Tyres).
