Those who might be wondering why Governor Adams Oshiomhole presented his state 2015 budget far ahead of schedule, do not need to scratch too far.

The Edo State governor merely wanted to clear his table in preparation for a higher political office.

There are indications that he will soon officially declare his interest in joining the presidential race for the 2015 election, on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.

Reports said he has already submitted a letter of intent to the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, just as he has intensified consultations with stakeholders across the country, including former Presidents.

There are several aspirants gunning for the APC presidential ticket. In the hunt are former head of state, Muhammadu Buhari, former vice-presdent Atiku Abubakar and Kano state governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso.

The APC will pick its torchbearer at the National Convention of the party scheduled for Abuja on 2 December, according to guidelines released by the party last week.

Oshiomhole, was a former national labour leader and has a profile that transcends his Edo state.
