Nigeria’s Senate President David Mark on Monday denied the wide spread statement credited to him, suggesting a ground plot to postpone the 2015 general elections.
His Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Mr Kola Ologbondiyan, refuted the allegation in a statement in Abuja.
Mark was reacting to the APC National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who claimed that Mark called for the postponement of the 2015 election.
He enjoined the All Progressives Congress (APC) to desist from misleading the public, denying that Mark made such a speech at plenary on 16 September.
It said that the development was a disservice to Nigerians.
Ologbodiyan recalled that what Mark said in the course of debate in the chambers on that day, was that the issue of insurgency, which was the subject of the debate, must be addressed now and not election matters.
