France reached the Davis Cup final Saturday when Richard Gasquet and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga beat Tomas Berdych and Radek Stepanek 6-7 (4/7), 6-4, 7-6 (7/5), 6-1 for an unassailable 3-0 semi-final lead over the Czech Republic.
France will face either Switzerland or Italy on November 21-23 in the final.
Switzerland lead their ties against Italy 2-1, after, Stanislav Wawrinka and Marco Chiudinelli lost their doubles match against Italy’s Simone Bolelli and Fabio Fognini, in five sets, 5-7, 6-3, 7-5, 3-6, 2-6. Yesterday, Wawrinka and veteran Roger Federer won their single matches.
On Sunday, Federer will play Fognini, while Wawrinka will battle Bolelli, to decide the winner of the final ticket.
