Adamawa election: APC's Jibrillah to face PDP's Fintiri

The All Progressives Congress has announced its torch bearer for the 11 October governorship bye election in Adamawa State.

He is Senator Muhammed Bindawa Jibrilla who reprsents Adamawa North in the current National Assembly. He polled 2718 votes to beat six other contestants, that included Mr. Boss Mustapha in the primaries conducted Sunday.

The PDP on  Saturday announced acting governor Umaru Fintiri as the torch bearer.

The bye-election came after the impeachment of Governor Murtala Nyako by the PDP dominated House of Assembly on trumped charges last July 15.
Nyako, elected on the platform of PDP in 2011, had joined the APC.
