AC Milan have completed the signing of Fernando Torres on a two-year loan deal from Chelsea, after the Spanish striker passed a medical and agreed personal terms with the Italian club.
The move all but brings an end to the 30-year old striker’s time as a Chelsea player, as the loan deal will expire when his contract with the Premier League club ends in June 2016.
Torres joined Chelsea from Liverpool in January 2011 for a club record £50m fee and made 172 appearances for the Blues, scoring 45 goals and winning the UEFA Champions League with Chelsea in 2012, the Europa League in 2013 and an FA Cup title in his three-year spell at Stamford Bridge.
And the 30-year old has been replaced at Stamford Bridge by French striker Löic Remy who signed a four-year deal with the Blues, just over a month after a move to Liverpool fell through.
Remy spent last season on loan to Newcastle United from Queens Park Rangers and scored 14 goals in 26 appearances.
