Paris St. Germain dropped points again in only its third Ligue 1 match of the season, playing with 10 men for the closing 30 minutes in the goalless draw at Evian TG.
The Parisians were without injured charismatic striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and captain Thiago Silva for the encounter in which they created very little to threaten their hosts.
Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani had PSG’s best chances in each half, seeing a weak shot blocked midway through the first half before forcing a good save from Evian goalkeeper Hansen midway through the second half.
Evian had their chances to nick the win after PSG’s Cabaye received his marching orders in the 63rd minute, notably deep in stoppage time only to be denied by Salvatore Sirigu’s top save as the match ended goalless.
The result leaves PSG in third with five points from three matches, a point behind early pacesetters Bordeaux and St. Etienne, with Bordeaux visiting Nice on Saturday and St. Etienne hosting Rennes on Sunday.
