Stephen Keshi has sent in a letter to the Nigeria Football Federation to notify the nation’s football governing body of his acceptance to continue as coach of the Super Eagles according to the News Agency of Nigeria.

Keshi’s initial contract with the NFF expired following the 2014 World Cup in Brazil where the 52-year old led Nigeria to the second round stage before losing out to France.

The former national team captain and coach of Mali and Togo had already stated his desire to remain as Super Eagles coach after the World Cup campaign, only if the NFF offer him a new deal.

That new deal was offered by the NFF a fortnight ago and would reportedly see the coach now earn $44,000 per month, a fraction more than what he earned in his previous deal.
