Dawha replaces Engr. Yakubu as NNPC boss ; Muoneke heads NPDC

Nigeria’s President Goodluck Jonathan Friday, appointed a new helmsman to replace the Group Managing Director of NNPC, Engr. Andrew Yakubu. He is Dr. Joseph Thlama Dawha. NPDC_banner

The president also approved the appointment of Mr Anthony Ugonna Muoneke as the new Managing Director for the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC), replacing Mallam Hamidu Namtari, the acting Managing Director.

Other appointments approved by President Jonathan, according to a press statement signed by the Special Advicer on Media and Publicity Dr. Reuben Abati are:

Ms. Aisha Mata Abdurrahman – Group Executive Director, Commercial and Investment, NNPC

Dr Attahiru B. Yusuf – Group Executive Director, Business Development, NNPC

Dr. Dawha, the new Group Managing Director of the NNPC, from Borno state, has served previously as the Group Executive Director, Exploration and Production, NNPC and Managing Director of Integrated Data Services Ltd (IDSL), a subsidiary of the NNPC, the statement said.

The NPDC boss Mr. Anthony Muoneke, from Anambra, southeast of the country has over 29 years’ experience at both local and international levels in the oil and gas sector, as well as the energy and power sectors.

Muoneke who was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1985, has also served as Executive Director, Finance & Admin, Niger Delta Power Holding Company Ltd. (NDPHC).

The statement said all the appointments are with immediate effect.
