Newly signed Barcelona forward Luis Suarez would be in line to feature in the first El-Clasico match against Real Madrid after the fixtures for the 2014-15 Spanish league season was released.

The £75m signing from Liverpool is currently serving a four-month FIFA ban from all football activities but will be available to feature in the first El-Clasico billed for the last weekend in October at Real’s Santiago Bernabéu stadium.

Barcelona though may have the Uruguayan forward available before then, if his appeal against the ban, imposed in June during the World Cup, does not fall through at the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS).

Barcelona – scheduled to host the return leg in mid-March next year – won both legs of the always anticipated match against Real Madrid in the league last season, though both clubs were beaten to the league title by Atletico Madrid in an exciting race.

Atletico will begin their title defence away at city rivals Rayo Vallecano when the season commences on the weekend of August 23-24 while Barcelona will begin their campaign at home to Elche and Real Madrid will face newly promoted Cordoba, also at home.

The match of the opening weekend is expected to come from Seville where Europa League holders Sevilla hosts Valencia whom they beat in the semi-finals of the competition last season.

Elsewhere, newly promoted Eibar will commence its first ever top flight campaign with a match against Basque rivals Real Sociedad while another Basque side, Athletic Bilbao will visit Malaga on matchday one.
