Demba Ba Completes Besiktas Move

Senegal striker Demba Ba has completed a transfer from Chelsea to Turkish giants Besiktas for a reported fee of £4.7m after passing a medical this morning in Istanbul.

The 29 year old’s move to the 13-time Turkish champions ends an 18-month spell at Chelsea where he fell further down the pecking order following the arrival of Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid.

Ba’s place at Stamford Bridge had already been on the fringes since joining from Newcastle United in January 2013, making only 23 starts in 51 appearances for Chelsea and scoring 14 goals.

The striker stated after completing the deal that ”I know what my coach Slaven Bilic expects from me and I am open to all sorts of competition. I will give everything I’ve got.”
