Prandelli Becomes Galatasaray Manager

Former Italy coach Cesare Prandelli has been confirmed to become manager of Turkish club Galatasaray by the Turkish club as replacement for compatriot Roberto Mancini.

Prandelli had resigned from his position with the Italian national team only a fortnight ago following the Azzurri’s elimination from the group stage of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Sporting Director of Galatasaray Tomas Ujfalusi explained the choice of Prandelli was made because the 56 year old’s expansive knowledge of Italian football would be key to build on Mancini’s work at the club.

The former Fiorentina and Parma boss will sign a two-year deal with Galatasaray later today and begin work on Tuesday at the club’s training center where he will meet with the players to begin preseason training.
