Approval has been given for the Nigeria Football Supporters Club (NFSC) to come along with drums and other musical instruments when Nigeria take on Bosnia-Herzegovina in a FIFA World Cup match on Saturday.
This was made known by the head of the NFSC, Dr. Rafiu Ladipo in Sao Paulo after a complaint by the NFSC to the Local Organising Committee received favourable audience.
The NFSC had been refused entry to the stadium for Nigeria’s opening Group F match against Iran for coming along with drums and other musical instruments to support the Super Eagles.
According to Dr. Ladipo, the NFSC made the complaint in light of Brazil fans being allowed to bring in musical instruments to the stadium and felt same treatment should be given to the NFSC and supporters of other nations at the mundial.
”Our complaint to FIFA and the LOC was that if hosts Brazil were allowed to sing and drum during their matches, there was no reason Nigeria’s supporters and those of other countries present should not be allowed to do the same.”
Super Eagles goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama had blamed Nigeria’s disappointing goalless draw with Iran partly on the absence of the NFSC’s vocal support during the match.
