Osogbo – Football fans in Osogbo on Monday urged the electricity distribution company to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the Nigeria-Iran World Cup match.

One of them, Mr Mukaila Oyegbade, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Osogbo that many Nigerians were anxious to be part of the Super Eagles’ opening match.

“For maximum entertainment, I prefer to watch the match at home, especially when it will be almost dark before the kick off.

“I have made it a routine to watch Nigerian matches as crucial as this with my family at home. It is our little way of supporting the Eagles,’’ Oyegbade said.

Another football fan, Mr. Abiola Ayobami, said the electricity company would do Nigerians a lot of favour by ensuring power supply.

“With the security situation of the country, it is even better that fewer people converge on the viewing centres.

“The opening match of the Super Eagles is one of the most important games that should be watched by all Nigerians.

“In the past few days, electricity supply has been epileptic. This is why we are appealing to the distribution company to give us this opportunity of watching the match.’’

The football enthusiasts said that many Nigerians should have the opportunity of being part of the match from the comfort of their homes.
