Warri Wolves this morning in Warri defeated Bayelsa United 3-0 in a Nigeria Premier League matchday 18 encounter rescheduled from Wednesday after heavy rain at the venue left the pitch waterlogged.

Gbolahan Salami put Wolves ahead with a penalty on the stroke of half time and he wrapped up a comfortable morning for the home side with a second penalty 10 minutes into the second half after Egbeta had doubled Wolves’ lead minutes before.

The win sees Warri Wolves move up to fourth place with 28 points, two points behind Nigeria Premier League leaders Sharks that lost 4-1 at second placed Kano Pillars on Wednesday.

Bayelsa United on their part are now three points off safety, maintaining 17th place on the league table with 20 points though the Yenegoa club has two games in hand.
