French champions Paris St. Germain have handed coach Laurent Blanc a one-year contract extension, barely 24 hours after leading the club to a successful defence of the Ligue 1 title.
The 49 year old coach, whose initial contract with the club was due to expire at the end of this season, is now contracted to the Parisians for two more seasons till 2016.
Blanc led PSG to the season opening Champions Trophy as well as the Coupe de la Ligue title and the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League where PSG lost on away goals to Chelsea.
The Ligue 1 title is the second Blanc has won in his managerial career, having led Girondins Bordeaux to the league title in 2009. He had also won the Coupe de la Ligue that season.
