Kogi convenes stakeholders meeting on screening report

The Kogi State Government has sent out notice of meeting with key stakeholders in the state to take it a holistic stand on the recently released screening report in the state.
This was made known to newsmen at Ogori by the Director General on Media and Publicity to the Governor, Kingsley Fanwo. He said the Governor will chair the meeting which will hold at Government House by 4pm on Sunday May 30, 2017.
According to the Governor’s spokesman, the meeting is to discuss a common ground for all stakeholders so that both the government and other stakeholders will have a common ground on the issue.
“Government, through the office of the Secretary to the State Government, has slated a meeting for tomorrow (Sunday May 30, 2017) to iron out the grey areas in the report and have a common ground.
” The meeting is expected to be attended by government officials, representatives of labour unions, representatives of religious bodies, students union bodies, market women, security agencies, traditional institutions and other relevant and critical organizations.
“Government is determined to come to an agreement on the report with the various interest groups in order to find a nexus between government interest and the positions of the various stakeholders”.
Fanwo said Governor Yahaya Bello is poised to ensure industrial harmony in the state, hence, the convening of the meeting.
He urged all the invited groups to endeavor to honour the olive branch extended by government.
