People of Kogi West will soon be relieved from the perennial water shortage in the area. The Federal government has approved a World Bank sponsored water project across Kabba-Bunu, Ijumu Federal Constituency and its environs in the Senatorial District of Kogi State.
Member representing the Federal constituency, Hon. Tajudeen Yusuf disclosed this Tuesday while flagging off the construction/rehabilitation of 15Km Kabba-Ole-Ofin – Iluke feeder road in the constituency.
He noted that the water project which is a World Bank project was initiated by him and other people from Kogi West adding that the project will cover Kabba, Okoro, Otuole, Oke-Bukun, Iyara and other places in his constituency.
He thanked the people for giving him privilege to be the first House of representatives member to be returned in this constituency, “There is a saying that to whom much is given much is expected. I cannot give money to everybody even if CBN is given to me I cannot get enough money to give to everybody but what will be enduring are projects like this.
“So my quest and desire to leave a mark that generations unborn will see as a roadmap, as sign and a shoe they will desire to step in, God opened my eyes on how to fix this road.
“As I stand today Kabba-Okene road is being rehabilitated, Kabba-Omi which is going to be in two phases, (Kabba to Iyara, while 2017 budget will take care of Kabba to Iyamoye) the first leg from Kabba has started. However the first phase is five Kilometers, we trust God that with the 2017 we will push it to 15Km.
“Without the platform of the mandate you have given me no matter how articulate or intelligent I am nobody would have listened to me so the commendation goes to you first, because I was not the most intelligent or educated, I wasn’t the richest or the most connected but it pleased God to put in your heart to elect me, thank you.”
