The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kaduna State Command, said it would collaborate with other security agencies and the state Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development to rid the state of destitutes.
A statement issued by the Public Relations officer of the command,Mr Orndiir Terzungwe, said the exercise was aimed at controlling the menace of destitutes in Kaduna metropolis.
He said the state Commandant of the corps, Alhaji Modu Bunu, had urged personnel of the corps to ensure high discipline, diligence and synergy in discharging their duties.
He warned that the command would not condone any act of indiscipline among the personnel during the exercise.
The commandant said that the personnel would be assisted to evacuate the destitutes to Kakuri from where they would be moved to Makarfi Destitutes Camp.
He said that the state government had concluded arrangements for their feeding.
