AAU loses immediate past VC

Edo State-owned Ambrose Alli University (AAU). Ekpoma, has been thrown to mourning. This follows the death of its immediate past Vice Chancellor, Dr. (Mrs.) Cordelia Agbebaku.
It was gathered that she died at about 5 pm on Thursday at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH).
Unconfirmed sources had it that the former VC who had been on sabbatical at the United States of America since last year after leaving office, died of cancer of the colon.
The Public Relations Officer of the University, Mr. Edward Aihevba who confirmed the incident, however said they were yet to get full details of her death.
“The University is distraught, we are confused and sad. We are yet to get full details of her death. We have no details yet, we have not confirmed anything, but we heard she died of a protracted ailment.
“Right now, the VC, myself and others are on our way to the family house to see them,” Aihevba said.
The late Agbebaku who was born in 1961, was a pioneer law student of AAU, in 1981. She was the Dean, faculty of law, before she was appointed Acting Vice Chancellor in May, 2011.
She became the substantive VC on February 18, 2014 till 2016 when her tenure expired.
