The Osun Government on Friday said that it had received N11.7 billion from the Federal Government as its share of the refunds from the Paris Club loans deductions.

Mr Semiu Okanlawon, Director, Bureau of Communication and Strategy, Office of the Governor made the disclosure in a statement in Osogbo.

Okanlawon said that based on the receipt of the funds, the governor had approved an upward review of the existing salaries and pension payment structure for the state workers and pensioners.

He added that the review agreed upon by the Revenue Apportionment Committee, comprising of workers and government representatives.

Okanlawon said with the upward review the financial burden of the workers as a result of economic recession would be eased.

According to Okanlawon, with the review of the salary structure, workers from grade level 1 to7 will continue to receive 100 per cent salary while those on grade level 8 to 10 will be paid 75 per cent.

He said that workers on grade level 12 and above would be paid 50 per cent salary while pensioners on N1,000 -N20,000 would collect 100 per cent pension.

The director said that pensioners on N20, 001 -N80, 000 would get N75 per cent of their pension while pensioners on N80, 001 would continue to collect 50 per cent.

He added that the state government would commence payment of salaries and pensions for September, October and November as from Dec. 19.

Okanlawon said that the state government expressed its appreciation for the high sense of responsibility, patriotism, and love for the development of the state as exemplified by the workers. (NAN)
