Niger to strengthen tourism- Gov. Bello

The News Agency of Nigeria, NAN reports that the Niger Government has promised to provide recreational facilities in tourist sites across the state to generate more revenue and create jobs for the people.

Gov. Abubakar Bello gave the promise at the Gurara Annual Cultural Festival on Saturday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the theme of the 2016 festival was “Harnessing the potentials of culture and tourism in the face of present economic reality.’’

Represented by Alhaji Kabiru Asabe, the Permanent Secretary, Political, Bello said that the state government would exploit all potentials across the state to increase its internally generated revenue.

The governor commended the organisers of the festival for promoting the cultural heritage of Gurara, adding that the state government would continue to identify with the people in promoting culture.

Mr Zakari Musa, the Chairman of the festival organising committee, said that the event was organised to promote the norms and culture of Gwagyi people.

Musa called on the state government to build a hotel at the Gurara water falls to attract and cater for tourists coming into the state.
