A seven man panel of  Supreme Court led by Justice Tanko Muhammad on Tuesday declared that Governor Seriake Dickson was validly elected as Bayelsa State chief executive.

The panel dismissed the appeal filed by Timipre Sylva, candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the elections in the unanimous, summary judgment, delivered after marathon hearing of the petition.

The victory of Dickson, who contested on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party as validly elected governor of Bayelsa State by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC had earlier been upheld by the election petitions tribunal and the Court of Appeal.

The panel members however said they will deliver a detailed judgment on November 18.
