Nigeria’s first urban online pidgin radio has finally released its app on Google Playstore. The online radio which began operations a few months back formally launched operations on Monday with the release of its Pidgin Radio app on Google Playstore.

The CEO of the radio station, Mr. Ovie Cohen, described the radio as a station for the indigenous Nigerians and Pidgin English lovers. He commended the acceptance the radio is getting, stating “it’s mind blowing the positive feedback we are getting, we had over 10,000 listeners in less than 2 months of operation which is a mighty feat given we were just a small team trying to do something different but now with the application going viral, we are expecting major positive feedbacks”.

A graduate of Mass Communication from the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ovie began his journey in the media world at Big Picture Entertainment, parent company of Smash TV, TiwanTiwaTV and Glitz Network as a sound engineer but went on to be a program producer and Channel Manager at the company. Also a freelance sound engineer to TooXclusive, Ovie has his sights set on making Pidgin Radio a household brand.
