Niger, Chad troops kill 38 Boko Haram fighters

Nigerian soldiers  Drawn from Charlie company of the 3 rd Infantry Battalion believed they were going for another night military exercise!

Troops from Niger and Chad  killed 38 Boko Haram fighters during operations against the insurgent group on Friday.

Niger’s defense ministry says soldiers have killed 38 Boko Haram Islamic extremists during an operation in the country’s southeast Diffa region.

Colonel Moustapha Micheal Ledru, spokesperson for the Nigerien Army said two solders were wounded in the operation launched in response to clashes in the village of Toumour, near Lake Chad and the Nigerian border, on Monday.

He added that the Nigerien and Chadian forces also seized large quantities of weapons and ammunition in a statement read on national radio.

According to him, soldiers were continuing to pursue Boko Haram fighters in the area.
