Lewis Hamilton has extended his championship lead over team mate, Nico Rosberg by 19 points after a dominant victory in Germany today.
Nico Rosberg was beaten into fourth place by the Red Bulls of Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen.
Hamilton now has 217 points to Rosberg’s 198.
Hamilton took the lead at the start as polesitter Rosberg suffered a nightmare getaway, bogging down and slipping behind Verstappen and Ricciardo.
With all the lead runners opting for three-stop strategies, Hamilton never looked in serious trouble as he managed his advantage up front, while behind Rosberg fought hard to recover, passing Verstappen for second place with a muscular move at Turn 6 on lap 30, only to be subsequently handed a 5-second time penalty for forcing the Dutchman off the road in the process.
That dropped him back behind both Red Bulls for good, with Ricciardo making the most of a superior strategy to get the better of his team mate.
