When people talk about winning souls these days, I feel absolutely concerned for the so-called souls. It looks to me like a lion on a breakfast mission, in search for his hunt; he hides behind the grass for an unwise lamb that would wander away from the herd in search of fresh grass. This will be an easy catch and good feast for the lion’s plate.

When I hear these people talk about winning souls, I feel sorry for the souls who have no idea of what they are getting into. It sometimes sounds to me like blood-thirty people desperate to count the number of innocent, ignorant people who will give their blood to be sucked. These souls are classified, as those who are needy, can undoubtedly gullible in their search for solutions and wanting to identify or belong to a community.

These souls are caught when they are most vulnerable maybe they have lost a loved one, in a bad relationship with their parents or family, in need of healing or desperate for a change. At this point they will give anything and do anything without a second thought.

When caught by the wrong hands, they will start running in a wheel. Initially, the souls will be treated with some measure of care, so they do not detach. This will be short lived to prepare them to be trained as unconscious servants. Once the attachment is built, they would start attending endless meetings till they begin to be unavailable for their loved ones and disassociate from their families over time. These souls will eventually give their energy away and with time they begin to feel tired, unhappy, sick, financially drained and depleted. Unknown to them, this new community and friends maybe superficial. The souls might observe that sweet and bitter method of sucking their blood has gradually robbed them of their self worth. They might realize they have given their energy to somebody else and they are now hanging in the spider’s web.

They are tied up with daily and weekly responsibilities but if you look closely, their main leader is seating in a place of convenience by handling brief monthly meetings (not weekly) or occasional gatherings.

When I hear about souls, I have sympathy for those who give their blood to be sucked. They are simply prey to be used as objects in some people’s game. Incidentally, some of these souls have become wiser in seeking the opportunity to reap the reaper in his own game, like the buffalo who challenges the tiger.

Mt 7:21-23

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

An aggressive soul winner is hungry like a hunter; he goes with all manner of tools and uses different technique to capture his prey.

An aggressive soul winner is like a fisherman who uses a net. This method of fishing is solely for material or commercial purposes. On the other hand a fish can also be caught by using a fishing rod with baits or lures impaled on the hooks to entice any fish that venture near to bite off the attractive bait. Unfortunately, if caught by a commercial fisherman the fish is not going anywhere after all that effort, it must be eaten. However, if caught by a hobbyist, he will admire the fish and put it back where it belongs, in its natural habitat. Thank God for regulatory organisations helping to stop brutal killings of animals whether on land or sea.

Soul winning alone will not take you to heaven; you win a soul by living the God life and your personal interest in bringing somebody to the knowledge of Christ. You have to be in a good frame of mind first, not under fear or compulsion that if you do not win souls you will go to hell. There should be no ulterior motives like getting the soul’s money eventually, you want a position or seeking to be rewarded with treats or awards. There are people who reach out to others daily not for any earthly reward or to direct the souls to their own churches, for benefits or for any selfish reason. These people recommend and make available other authors, ministers and local assemblies for the interest of the soul alone.

Every man should learn to take care of himself first. He should learn to use his initiative and study for himself otherwise he might become somebody’s big catch or ‘meat’. At that point he would have no one to blame.

I have written this for those who have asked me questions on soul winning and their fears.

“And many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” Mat 24:11-14

“But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.”

  • Obosa Faith says:

Thank you so much Pastor Anita. this is so insightful. soul winning should be based on our life styles. The bible says the disciples were called Christians because they were ‘Christ like’. They lived, behaved like Christ. They were not winning souls for personal gains or to win an award or recognition in church. We need to go back to our root and foundation ‘The Bible’. As Christains, our fruit should bring people to the knowledge of Christ. For a tree is only known by its fruit. It is our fruit not gifts. God richly bless you Ma and increase you in grace and wisdom.

You are castigating anointed & ordained woman of God also. Please just pray for them both because you may be shocked to see them re-united and stronger. Have you not heard of 14 years divorce coming together again? God is teaching man a lesson here and we should not be in a hurry to preempt God.

I”m just hear trying to feel Pastor Anita’s pains and frustrations. Really Ministry can really be a handful. When the weight of ministry comes hard on an individual, you need Grace to keep going. Apostle Paul a zealot had to cry at some point. Peter had at one time to return to fishing. This didn’t in anyway meant that both men weren’t called and never had Grace, It only proves right what the bible says, one will grow weary when one is dependent on one’s strength. Let’s also not forget that the gates of hell is permitted to test our resolve and conviction for this Kingdom work. I am sure Pastor Anita mean no harm, She just needed “some air” and to slow down the pace at which she was going. Too bad the whole thing now turned this way. She’s is human and a woman (she still has emotions) and she’s hurting too. Its not nice calling her bitter for all we know anyone one of us could have reacted worse in such a situation. Our men of God and women of God are still human, that’s why they are not addressed as “God of men” or “God of women”. Pastor Chris is strong and is focus and I bless God for his life, but what Pastor Anita have written in her article will be of great help for people who don’t have Grace to be engrossed and work at an incredible momentum. I will try not to do God’s work by judging the call on Pastor Chris. Time is a reveler and God indeed knows His own but one thing i am sure of, though not his follower is he is indeed called and is passionate for the God’s business. A man who is passionate can really be misunderstood. May God indeed comfort the wounded.

16 “For the Lord God of Israel says:That He hates divorce,For it covers one’s garment with violence,”Says the Lord of hosts.“Therefore take heed to your spirit,That you do not deal treacherously.”

Madam Anita, please leave the man alone since you said you do not want him any more.
You are so BITTER in your spirit. You have married this man for like 24years now and you have been enjoying all the money and had kids for him, then why the sudden change of mind at this your old age when you are supposed to relax.
You knew he was bad since and you kept quiet since, what then were you preaching to your members?
NOW THAT YOU HAVE LEFT YOUR HUSBAND, ARE YOU GOING TO REMARRY OR YOU WANT TO START SLEEPING AROUND (ADULTERY)

PLEASE BE SMART AND DONT LET PRIDE DESTROY YOU.
I NEVER EXPECTED A WOMAN WHO CALLED HERSELF A PASTOR TO DIVORcE HER HUSBAND LIKE YOU ARE DOING……WHAT KIND OF AN EXAMPLE DO YOU SET FOR YOUR KIDS AND THOSE YOU HAVE PREACHED TO.

let he that have ears listen

Anita or whatever you name may be. Rember that Pastor Chris has been a soul winner from a child untill now. This is a Man of God that’ve spent most of his life serving the Lord. Please be cautioned and move on with you life, if you think that’s the best thing for you. Please allow Pastor Chris to rest.. you’ve caursed enough disgrace to Him. Please you should remain silent and move on with you life. It’s your choice..

  • Tommy says:

You should be very careful stating Pastor Chris “remained a man of God.” You have no right to judge him one way or the other. You really ought to remain silent with your hypocritical advice.

With “true ministry”, man does not ordain the servant. Man simply acknowledges the appointment and assignment on the servant’s life. Do you know how I found out about the divorce and this article… I was watching a video and saw the manner in which Pastor Chris looked at a woman who was singing on stage… I went to the internet and
typed “Pastor Chris + affair.” …. You ought to be praying for him, instead of remaining

    unwise.

  • Tommy says:

Capitalizing the serpent’s name … is giving that worthless creature way too much credit.

Emeka… you speak from a place of ignorance. Adultery is cause for divorce. You are the black kettle.

  • Lafika says:

Pastor Anita, I will still call you so as you were & remained ordained as so. Msy God bless you and heal your bitterness and anger. Pastor Chris remained the man of God, judging him is for God. I pray that u find it in your heart to forgive yourself then u will find it easy to forgive him. If you can’t for your family, pls do it for us, His kids. We love you always.

  • Amadi says:

Oga you are a fool. Ibu akpa amu. Ibu ewu. Ibu nsi efi by saying Nigerians don’t produce anything. The toothpick weh we de use for here na steal we steal am. Produce and we buy, is it a bad arrangement? Abeg take time. Mpama. Atulu ocha. Anu ohia. You papa na black brain mumu.

  • OneNigeria says:

What Jesus Christ taught about Marriage and Divorce? Are you for real? So what he taught them jews 3,000 years ago is what people of today should be using to run their lives . This Jesus wasn’t even married to begin with! Why don’t you ride donkeys today and say that was how your saviour was travelling in the bible? You people can believe any rubbish sha…Maybe i should even come launch my own “biz centre” in Naija and just retire rich feeding silly people like you with junks from an old book. You people don’t even produce common toothpick in Nigeria…yet you have big business centres called Churches and you know Jesus more than the white man who gave you religion. #Black man, Black brain.#

  • OneNigeria says:

The deeper the hold of religion is in a society, the lesser their intelligence and level of development…(Look at all the underdeveloped countries and you would know what i mean). Religion has and is always the opium of the masses. When people are ignorant, uneducated and poor….don’t they really need help? or a god? or priest? or saviour? They surely need some comfort and religion is the “perfect product”…those ones who are fortunate to start the “business centers” know their customers are desperate and also gullible…any business that customers are desperate and gullible is a good one. Trust me, you can never go wrong! In fact, the more stupid “the theory” is…the better for the idiots cos they like things that sound “unbelievable”, they need to swallow it cos that is “faith at work”. If you doubt it, you are an unbeliever and would go to hell. Hahaha. This joke has been on for centuries and it would continue as long as you have many ignoramus on earth. Anita, don’t judge Chris…you were both sharing the loot when the going was good. If you want to start living the life again, open your own church (In Nigeria please cos we know better here in England) and many idiots would gather there to take care of all your needs. I’m expecting some nonentities to start calling me names for talking about their pastor and religion like this…Bring it on please!

  • Watch man says:

Yes, but why wait until she left marriage and the business she was doing with her ex-husband before preaching this kind of sermon? Did she just realize this truth just now? Anyway, she may have been in a phulake of some sort that limited her knowledge and understanding until now. It does happen actually!

  • Watch man says:

Is your narration what your ex-husband did to you? But both of you were in the same business until things fell apart. So, you think you have the moral justification to put up this write up? Ok ooo!

  • Euridas says:

@illoh Ifeoma. Posts on open blogs don’t necessarily require permission before its shared, else, the said blogs won’t have options for social media sharing. Besides, full credits were attached therewith. Publishers who require specific or non-specific permissions usually state the necessary details onsite. The publication may be intellectual property of Anita, it is however a Message or gospel opinion from a Pastor which often requires free sharing (of the said gospel). Why should Pastors join the classification of writers who clamour for such rights when the guiding book of faith preaches sharing of the word, freely I must add.

  • Euridas says:

Blah blah blah.. We will never really have the whole info. All we blab about are what we are privy to however it got out. Point is, we will never really know the truth even when it comes from the parties concerned. Would you expose your very briefs?

  • Joseph Ojo says:

Emeka, I thought you should be kind with your words. I’m shocked to hear a pungent message as this from Anita. That was a message from a burning heart. Mark this, we are awaiting results.Don’t be quick to judge. God bless you

  • emeka Ameechi says:

How does a kettle call pot black. before you write any thing about any body please tell us what Jesus Christ thought you about Marriage and divorce.

  • AGO says:

Ola, more poignantly, it is an exposè of what goes on in so many cult groups that parade themselves as temples of the Lord. Church is big business and this is one area where our people – Africans to be precise – beat the Western world hands down. It is only unfortunate that you only get to read stories like this when the bubble busts. Anita dared not make this revelation as an insider. (AGO)

Does she know you stole this content off her blog? Why repost every content as is. Do you know you will hurt her SEO and your ps in the process. If she didn’t give you permission to repost this, this is content theft.

  • UGOCHUKWU OKOKOH says:

What she said is the truth,if you want to accept it, ok. What She just reminded us was on what Jesus said in gospel of Mathew 23 about the Pharisees and Saducees hypocrisy which is prevalent now.

  • David says:

Chris was already from a pastor family before he meant his wife. This is a piece of craps

  • Jobshow says:

There are 2 ways to view this problem – 1. Pastors who started well and along the road the Devil crept in unaware and changed the whole vision with the God’s given methodology The Devil then promised to give fame and money if he bows down i.e use the Devil’s methodology. – 2. Pastors who are fake from the starting point who for the sake of filthy lucre went into ministry These one are very good tools for the Devil to use and tarnish the image of God’s people

  • ola says:

This seems like an insinuation about what goes on in Chris Oyakhilome’s group
