‎Hon. Ehiozuwa Agbonayinma, the officially recongnised Edo state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship aspirant led by the embattled factional chairman of the party, Alhaji Alimodu Sheriff, has vowed to make Edo state great if given the mandate to lead the state.

Ehiozuwa, made the disclosure, while fielding questions from the Benin airport at the Weekend. He assured delegates and his supporters that he was the best man for the plump job, citing his experinece as a lawmaker..

He was received by women groups and youths as well as close family members. He spoke after securing the party nomination and Expression of Interest Forms at the PDP national headquarters, Abuja.

Agbonayinma, who relied on a subsisting court judgement in favour of Alimodu Sheriff, however, promised to back down, if there is a contrary ruling before the party’s primary scheduled for Wednesday 29th June 2016.

He said, his quest to succeed the state Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, was aimed at protecting the state against poachers who do not want the progress of the state, ahead of the forthcoming 10th September 2016 Governorship poll in the state.

But, he denied being sponsored by anyone or group to stoke the crisis rocking the party, with a caution never to do anything that would undermine the development of the state.

“If I win nomination, I assure you that I will give power back to the people. Until the is a contrary court judgement setting aside the subsisting court ruling, Alimo Sheriff remains the Chairman of our great party.

“The previous preliminary PDP primary is a null and void, because the constitution of our great party, PDP, we must adhere to it. We must support the rule of law and as a lawmaker, I should not be seen violating the laws of the party or the Country.

“I’m a lawmaker and not a Law breaker”, he said: “I’m not the only one contesting, there are many others.
