A letter written by Governor Adams Oshiomhole to the Edo State House of Assembly seeking approval for the sum of N14.160 billion budget support loan facility for the state government has been approved by the House.

‎The approval followed a motion for the consideration of the governor’s request, moved by the Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Folly Ogedengbe (APC Owan East) and seconded by the Minority Leader, Hon. Patrick Iloube (PDP Esan North East.)

‎Ogedengbe while moving the motion, described the fund as another bailout loan initiated by the Federal Government to support States in paying salaries.

‎”What we are doing now is to give the state government a legal backing to access the fund,” he explained.

‎The motion was unanimously supported by other lawmakers, following which the Speaker, Elizabeth Ativie, directed that copies of the resolution be sent to the Governor for immediate action.
